Students enrolled in The Berkeley-CEG Summer Select Program will be able to experience a world-class undergraduate instructional curriculum taught by UC Berkeley’s instructors. The six-week program consists of three courses and 6-8 units:

1. One 4-unit English course: 45 hours of classroom instruction, plus individual tutoring and mentoring by instructor.
2. One 4-unit course of the students choosing; options will include Math, Economics, Chemistry, Anthropology, Music, Linguistics, Philosophy, Physics, Sociology and Statistics. Students will select one course with 60 hours of instruction, and will be placed with Berkeley students and other international visitors.
3. Essay Writing Course for College Admission.

Students will also attend workshops on essay writing for college admission. For your successful admission to top American universities, essays are very important. They provide the Admission Office with better insight about you and how you differ from the other applicants. The essay also demonstrates your writing skills as well as your ability to organize your thoughts coherently.
